If you visit numerous gaming news sites, you may have read recent reports claiming that a patent recently granted to Microsoft from the U.S. Patent office reveals Microsoft is making their next gaming system with a hard disk.
These reports are completely false in interpretation, and if you check the patent yourself it is simply the patent for the Xbox hard disk updated from 2001. If you scroll further down and look at diagrams and pictures, the pictures are even of the Xbox console!
Xbox Evolved has received information from numerous sources that the next Xbox will not come with a hard drive included, and will only be optional. The idea of this sounds crazy, but it comes from very reliable sources working closely to Microsoft. We will have more on this as it develops.
