Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone
Are you a fan of D&D or are you more into Lord of the Rings?

Of course this game is a branch off of the Dungeons and Dragon series, but this game will be using the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers game engine. Atari has decided to team up with the independent company Stormfront Studios to release an epic game involving the Forgotten Realms world. Stormfront Studios is who teamed up with EA to make the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers video game. This time they will team up with Atari to hopefully equal the sales and gameplay that they produced in LotR game. Atari has given Stormfront a lot of help along the way bringing in R.A. Salvatore in to write the story of the game. Salvatore has written many of the stories behind Forgotten Realms so it is only fitting that he brings his talents to this game. The game uses the same engine as LotR because the companies wanted the player to feel like they are playing a movie. The biggest problem they encountered was that they had to imagine the movie ahead of time, because they didn’t have a movie to look to in advance. This game will bring the same type of cinematic quality as the LotR game and have a whole separate world. The game is like many other fantasy games in the sense of having quests and character development. This same idea keeps the game original and stays at home with the feel of the Forgotten Realms series.

Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone is set to be an Action/Adventure RPG. There are three characters that you will have the ability to play and each of them have their special talents. There are 2 males and 1 female within the party. One of the male characters is a Barbarian, his powers are to be the tanker and heavy melee asset. The other male character is of the Human race, his powers involve sorcery which help aid the team offensively and defensively. The female character is a rogue who is excellent at sneak attacks and killing the foes quickly from behind. Throughout the game you have access to all three characters, because they will all be traveling on the screen at the same time. There will be certain times in the game that will favor one character over the other to complete based on his/her capabilities. This is why you can simultaneously switch between them at any given time to help you pass certain situations.

The sounds and visuals of the game are suppose to break barriers in the genre. Since it takes place in its own fantasy world the game should bring fourth new sensations to the minds of gamers. Not many games are able to create a movie setting and have the same feel as a movie. The task that the team has to keep focus on is making this have a movie feel without actually having a movie to acquire ideas from. So far this strategy is working well for them even though they had started from scratch. The sounds really go well with the environment and actions that take place while you are fighting. The graphics are definatly something to look forward to when playing this game. The game provides all of the right visuals for the melee movements and spell effects, which will fit the needs of the gamer.

This game brings a lot of new elements to the table for the D&D fans and fans of the Forgotten Realm series. If you are also a LotR fan then you should take a look at this game because it is much like the Two Towers gameplay. The game is set to be released later this fall to both the PS2 and the Xbox consoles. Atari and Stormfront hope that this game attracts new audiences as well as pleases the long time fans of the series.
