TMNT: Mutant Melee
Of all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games, this is hands down the worst thing ever to crawl out of the “ooze”. This is one series they should just put to rest before bringing complete and total shame upon the cartoon gods known as the Turtles.

Remember all the fun you had on your regular Nintendo playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for hours, days, and weeks. Yea remember all that fun, well this game takes all that fun, and turns it into pain. After playing this game for no more then an hour you will get bored, and irritated.

Story
The story line for this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game is very sad. You take on the role of one of the 4 turtles at the beginning but later there are 6 other characters you can unlock, to run through the story mode with. With basically every character you start off sparing with your other turtle brethren then you head off by your self to explore for some reason or another, then you get attacked, and on your way home you get attacked. This has no real story, and there is no such thing as cut-scenes. The only thing that happens is a cut-screen appears and tells you what you’re doing. EX. You got ambushed by foot soldiers, beat them. In almost every level you are out numbered 3 to 1, making every level a bit harder then it really needs to be.

Gameplay
If you have ever played Super Smash Brothers Melee, think of that, then slow it WAY down, make the characters un-reactive, and then make the levels smaller. Ok now you almost have it, then take the idea of weapons and make it very hard to pick them up. Closer, now make every one have such little health that it takes maybe 4 hits to die, and it’s all to easy to get caught in a combo in which you can not get out of. Well for those of you that don’t have Super Smash Brothers Melee, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Melee is a 4-person battle type scenario; each person has about 5 attacks, that are very slow, and about the same thing, none have air attacks although you can jump. The weapons are pretty much useless, because they are slow, and about the same damage as a regular attack. The levels are VERY small, so small it’s hard to get around if there are 4 people playing. This game was really meant to be a 4 player game, not for story, it is made to shine, but it falls short just because it is so slow paced, and crappy. It would much more fun to dig out your old Nintendo and re-hook it up and play Ninja Turtles 2 instead of this game.
