Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack
Bungie wowed us with the release of Halo 2. Can they do it again with the new multiplayer maps? Read on to find out.

Terminal
Terminal is a mid sized map in the maptacular map pack that is relatively silent, except when the train comes roaring through, causing the ground and your controller to shake, and drowning out any and all noise, making it impossible to hear any gunshots or explosions. Standing in front of one alone will kill you, but have an overshield and you’ll just be sent flying into the closest wall. This map specializes in CTF, team slayer, oddball, king of the hill, territories, and the occasional assault game, making it the most versatile level in the maptacular map pack

Score: 9/10

Backwash
The second map of the maptacular map pack is atmospheric, moody, and just plain unbalanced. It is by far the most broken level out of all of them and is really only admired for its “beauty” and its ambience, which is home to a certain familiar face who goes about his business in the steamy swamp on Delta Halo. This map is really only suitable for team slayer, CTF, and some of the various custom games that people have created.

Score: 7/10

Relic
This mid/large sized map is home to two bases and is surrounded by water, but be careful, the water in this level isn’t safe like it is in Zanzibar, go too far, and you’ll end up with a suicide. This level is obviously an island of sorts on Delta Halo, which is fairly obvious due to the excessive amount of water in the area. Not much ambience to speak of here, but its still a well-balanced and fun level. It’s most suited for games of Snipers, team slayer, slayer, and CTF.

Score: 9/10

Elongation
At last, the recreation of a Halo favorite has hit the Limelight. Elongation is a bigger, prettier version of The Longest from Halo and I stress the word prettier. The artwork on this level is downright admirable and amazing. It’s set on a space station orbiting Earth. If you look out on one side, you can see the moon, and if you look on the other side, you can see an extremely big and beautiful Earth, truly simulating the feeling that you are in space. This map really has no specialty other than Slayer, CTF, and Team Slayer so be creative and have fun with this one.

Score: 9/10

Gemini
Here it is, my favorite map. Gemini is by far the prettiest map of them all, creating a sense of enormity and awe like none other. It is a mid sized map with four teleporters and various, fully functioning doors, which add a new level of strategy and paranoia to any game. Go to the end of the map and you can see the background, which shows the center of the Covenant civilization on Delta Halo. This map works perfectly for almost any game mode, but is great for games of Team Slayer, CTF, Slayer, Oddball, and Territories.

Score: 10/10

Overall, this showing of maps from Bungie is nothing short of stellar. These guys did a bang up job on the new multiplayer levels and are well deserving of your hard earned money. Go buy or download these maps if you haven’t already, you won’t be disappointed.
