Prey looks very good but it isn't one of the prettiest of the Xbox 360 games. Running on a modified Doom 3 engine, the game does look a tad better than Doom 3 but not by all that much. I really did enjoy the shadow work though and the work put into the weapons. Everything is well done, just not amazing.
Much like the graphics, the audio in Prey is good but not great. In one of the early points of the game before you're taken into space, you're in a bar with a Jukebox and you can go back and forth between the songs. The development team went out and got some awesome tunes for this, including great music from Judas Priest and Heart. Too bad they didn't put as much effort into the music in the rest of the game, most of which comes off as generic hard rock. I had a feeling custom soundtracks being universal would cause developers to put less work into the soundtracks in games, and it certainly seems to be occurring if Prey is any indication. The sound effects, however, are fine and most of the voice actors do a good job but there's nothing special here.

Prey is a truly innovative game and a treat for console gamers and PC gamers alike. I had a great time with it and consider it worth the money, but if you're short on cash and need something to last you awhile, this is probably not the game for you. It becomes too reliant on its innovations - especially in the second half - and as good as it is, it could have been much better. Play Prey, but don't necessarily buy it.
