50 Cent: Blood on the Sand Review
With over one million copies sold from Bulletproof, it’s no doubt that 50 Cent would return for a second game and surprisingly, it’s pretty damn good!

by: Michael Ogunnubi
March 16, 2009

First of all I think I should begin by saying this game is indeed, good! It’s no secret that the name 50 Cent doesn’t tie in too well with a lot of people yet alone the gaming community so starting out that’s telling you its good, should at least get you the least bit interested.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is no way a sequel to 2005’s 50 Cent: Bulletproof but instead an entire new game from an entire new developer, Swordfish Studios. So don’t let that game scare you from what you may be interested in playing. Not set in the New York suburbs nor are you fighting against any underground thugs, 50 Cent and the G-Unit crew find themselves in the Middle East fighting across two countries over a human skull. 50 serves as the main character but with the G-Unit entourage, a second co-op player can be one of three other members of the: Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, or DJ Whoo Kid, each specializing in different combat techniques. The co-player is either run by a computer or through online cooperative play.

The game is set in an urban warzone in an unnamed Middle Eastern country, where 50 Cent and G-Unit have been hired to play a rap concert. After the concert the promoter refuses to pay them the money in cash he promised. 50 of course, does not sit easy with that and threatens him which then, he offers, instead of the cash they were promised, a diamond-and-pearl encrusted human skull as collateral. The awe and amazement for the priceless artifact doesn’t last long as it gets stolen by a team thieves. 50 Cent (with the help of a selected G-Unit partner) decides to get it back at any cost. Thus begins the general point of this entire game with a few plot twists down the line.

Throughout the main quest for your skull, the majority of enemies are the same. An entire armada of terrorist and enemies; hired to take out just a couple of people from Southside Queens. There are also a few Humvee and helicopter levels too which prove to be the most fun. Also there are where you’re fighting a helicopter…yes….fight a helicopter where you have to shoot it down with multiple rocket shots as well as your normal dude surrounded by a bunch of his body guards which prove to be useless.
