College Hoops 2K6 Review
March Madness is always a crazy time for college basketball, but would it take a true madman to play College Hoops 2K6? Read our full review to find out.

March Madness is here and I am hoping it doesn’t stay. College Hoops 2k6 is the reason why I beg for it to go away. I am a huge NCAA hoops fan so I had to buy the 360 version of College Hoops 2k6 but this is nothing new from the current-gen version. Sure the “new” graphics are a small step above the Xbox copy but I find it hard to upgrade. Here’s the downlow if you haven’t played the Xbox version yet.

College Hoops 2k6 plays similar to NBA 2k6 but of course players are not named. Compared to NBA 2k6, I enjoy College Hoops 2k6’s inside game more. In NBA 2k6, I could never get my post game established to be dominate like I should with players like Duncan and Shaq. In College Hoops, it’s easier to get my post game with 35 seconds on the shot clock to use with extra passes. There gameplay sliders are there to change any portion of the game. Feel your three point shots aren’t hitting? Move the slider for your players to hit those long balls.

The players from the original version have been updated a little with new ratings. Now you can use JJ Reddick and Adam Morrison as they are being used with their current teams. If those two aren’t attractions, why not use Rudy Gay or Allen Ray? Both have been improved to reflect their breakout year. You’ll have to know their number since there names are not represented in the game.

Can Coach K and the Blue Devils win it all this year?

About those graphics, yes they are prettier but it’s nothing groundbreaking. The noticeable changes have to do changing the camera angles to get a closer look. If you can zoom it in, the sweat and jerseys will be apparent on how they have been improved. If you look for these small things, sure they are there but it’s nothing to brag about. The graphics are decent but I believe NBA 2k6 is ten times better as character models are reused over and over again with College Hoops. Why does my #4 player have to look like the same player guarding me?

The crowd is still there lifeless from the gameplay view. The cut scenes show a livelier crowd but that occurs every once awhile. These breaks to the crowd will become stressing as I would rather play the game then see some retard in the crowd doing a dumb dance. The student sections are rowdy and the bands play music. What else is new? Oh yeah male cheerleaders have some formations that will make you quiver.
