Feeding Frenzy comes to us as one of the most simple concepts on Xbox Live Arcade yet. The game starts you off as a small fish eating smaller fish, and as you eat more of those fish, you grow bigger. Along the way you must avoid the fish that are bigger than you so that you do not get eaten. When big enough, you then may go on to eat those bigger fish, and eventually even bigger fish. Along the way you must watch out for sharks as well, collect starfish to multiply your score, and of course survive. Eventually you will also find oysters on the bottom of the sea, which will hold pearls that give you extra points, but you must quickly dash through them as well, or they might just clamp down on you.
The game isn’t too terribly hard to grasp, you move the analog, and your fish’s mouth over the fish you want to eat. You press A, you get a little speed boost. At the end of each level you get your tally, and a little fact about the sea. Tit is somewhat hard to get a game over in the game, but when you do, all it really does is reset your high score. You still can progress, but some of you who would want their top rank in the leaderboards might want to start over again. The game will get a bit difficult, and there really isn’t much there in terms of variety. You either play a normal mode, or a time trial mode. The achievements for the game aren’t exactly easy either, one of them actually requires you to play the game for at least ten hours—when the game is really maybe “almost” ten hours of fun. The strange thing about the game is, it has very colorful, childish visuals, and the facts are there that kids might enjoy, but I can’t really even see children finding the game fun. If you are a hardcore gamer who just wants something to brag about go ahead and buy this, otherwise, there are plenty of gaming options coming out for both kids and adults now or soon that will entice either much more efficiently.

Feeding Frenzy looks nice, plays simple, but has very little variety. It can be challenging but at 800 Points ($10), you can find a lot better offerings on Xbox Live Arcade, or now that games are finally coming, better full games on Xbox 360. I suggest you go ahead and pass on this one.
