Frogger
We race across the road, hope on the logs, and into the safe marsh with the Live Arcade release, Frogger. The title is a history lesson for all to enjoy, and we check it out in our full review.

Those of you that haven’t played to many compilation packages, or have never seen parodies of Frogger on television, Frogger is a pretty simply game. You are a little frog, running down a traffic filled road, across logs with creatures trying to thwart you, and all you have to do is get to the other side. It sounds simple, but as you get further into the game, everything speeds up of course. The arcade classic from Konami comes to us for only five bucks, and it is a interesting time killer.
The game is developed by compilation game maestros, Digital Eclipse which also worked on Midway’s classic arcade titles. They offer Frogger in a updated, but still same basic gameplay state. It is basically like you went from a cellphone game, to a cheap computer game in terms of visuals, and those of you who don’t like these new-fangled graphics all over your precious old amphibian, you have the ability to opt for the original visual style as well. The single-player portion is mostly how the classic was played, using only the four directions, but other than that you aren’t going to find much of anything else.
Multiplayer may offer up the majority of the fun to players who aren’t well versed in the ways of the old-school gaming, with a two player mode that can be played online and off. Online multiplayer also has versus mode where you can see how long you may last compare to your opponent. When you do either you will have a split-screen that is distracting, but adds to the pressure of the challenge. Strangely, the game has slowed down for me before, and it can be hard to find opponents at times. 360 Achievement freaks will be happy to know that there is a good mix of easy-to-gets such as passing through levels, and tougher ones that require you to get a certain amount of points.

Frogger for Live Arcade is basically just another old school title ripped out of a compilation pack, and a five dollar fee attached to it. That said, the game is still solid, definitely prettier than any of the other old-school Live Arcade titles out there and is more of a history lesson than a totally fun experience for the whole family.
