Jewel Quest is a title similar to a few other titles you may find on Xbox Live where you must line up three+ blocks to form the same type, making a match on every tile, on different kinds of boards. Some of these boards are sometimes oddly shaped, and in many instances are falling apart. This in effect leads you to think more about what is going on around you in any given game. While doing all this, the time is ticking, and whatever itme is left over you get points for. Get a certain amount of points and you get more lives. You control the whole game in the simple fashion of the analog stick and A button to swap the blocks.
The score does of course go up on leader boards, and there are some other things to download with the game, but with no multiplayer mode, and the fact that this game is free on PC, doesn’t help anything. The visuals are very archaic looking, giving it a aged temple feel, and the music fits but there really isn’t much more to it.

The game has a lot of neat ideas but it doesn’t do any of those ideas at a pace that makes it worth buying. The achievements are actually fairly easy to get (at least the beginning ones), and other than that, the game is somewhat a snore. It cost a bit much as well at ten bucks, if you don’t get your puzzle jollies with Hexic HD or the better puzzler, AstroPop then this might be for you, otherwise it just isn’t worth the bother.
