Let’s take a trip to Africa!...after we find out how to smuggle tons of weapons to take with us. Yeah, not so much a good idea, we’ll leave our vacation trip to Sheva Alomar and Chris Redfield. The game takes place ten years after the events of the original Resident Evil. The story explores Chris' life during the ten year interval between the two games. During the game's events, he is a member of a group known as Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), and sent to investigate an incident in a desert area that serves as the game's setting along with Alomar, an agent of West African branch of the BSAA. This is Resident Evil 5.
In this two-level demo, now out in Japan exclusively on the Xbox 360, you have two chooseable levels to play either by yourself, offline co-op, and even online co-op. For a demo, this is pretty bad ass!
When you boot up the demo your greeted by a title screen telling you to hit start where as you should expect, you’ll hear the creepiest calling of a game title ever. At the menu there are Records, Leaderboards, Library, Options and Credits. Records and leaderboards were unelectable in this demo and the last two are pretty much self-explanatory. Only thing left for you to do now is select play game! Here you can choose to play Online, offline, or offline with a second controller buddy; what better way to be terrified that to be terrified with a friend. Online works great as you can do private matches and get matched up with your friend or just play it with a random person. But you don’t want that you punk, go at it alone!
The first level is Public Assembly. While loading you’re greeted with a very brief control scheme layout. Doesn’t matter though, who remembers all that anyway, you just wanna jump right in. Once it loads up your right there and ready to go with Sheva right by your side. I run down a quick little runway hold A then jump down a cliff with X and make my way into a shack house where a very…very…gruesome cutscene starts. Also, the entire game is in English besides the spoken language of the locals. Chris and Sheva hide out inside the house and watch to what was a very angry gathering for the beheading of a captured traitor. Cool dude with the shades and the megaphone (that will be his name) shouts out some shouts then steps back gives the nod and SLICE, that traitor is no more. Everyone is cheering and cool dude with shades and the megaphone looks around from above at the scenery and notice Chris and Sheva inside the house through a window. Immediately he shouts with his awesome megaphone of their status and heads turn like all hell is about to break loose. The crowd starts to run toward Chris and Sheva, with weapons in hand. Cutscene ends and now you have to quickly block the window and door with a book cabinet and prepare to fight.
There’s ammo for the pistol on the back table which you’re going to need and now we wait. For a little while the protection seemed to be working then all a sudden bam, I’m juggling the left stick left and right trying to break off an enemy who has a grip on me. Sheva graciously kicks him off and now I’m shooting left and right with the limited ammo RE games are known for trying to survive. Finally Chris calls for Kirk to notify him about the locals and how they are in need of an immediate lift. Kirk tells him that he’s on his way. Then we must leave the shack and quickly progress to a safer area while also, having a gigantic 7ft masked beheader coming after you. There’s a house not to far off where we bust in the door COPS style and make our way upstairs where we see that holy shit, they can jump! They are on the roofs now and coming ever so slowly toward us. We shoot and shoot some more until finally Kirt arrives and blows up the store. Level end.
