Stoked Review
Stoked is the next game to hit the snowboarding game scene. From Destineer, they did a pretty good job of doing so too.

March 06, 2009

With SSX still no where in sight, there is a void in my soul for that snowboarding enjoyment I was filled with back with SSX Tricky. Luckily, some developers still remember that snowboarding games are indeed cool. With Ubisoft’s Shaun Whites Snowboarding being such the debacle that it was to me, I thought all hope had been lost. Nope, next up is Destineer’s Stoked and yes…it’s actually not bad.

Stoked was made with a general theme in mind. That being, “No Paths, No Boundaries, No Limits,” and to a degree, that’s generally what you get in this game. I’m gonna be real for a second, I was not expecting much from this game but its actually solid and snowboarding fans will love it. This is easily better than Shaun Whites Snowboarding. You start out Stoked by directly being taken to create your character. Then from there you choose Ride Mountain. Ride Mountain is where you can go to choose a drop off point and ride around completing the many challenges that lie around the map. Each mountain’s drop point has a variety of challenges to choose from.

As you ride down the mountain, you will come across small groups of riders gather around mountain features and they represent individual game play challenges. Your career mode is driven by your fame. Selecting objectives allows you to view your primary and secondary career goals to help increase your fame. There are session challenges, media challenges, and fame challenges. All of which help further your career and reorganization.
