Unreal Tournament 3 Review

Xbox 360 gamers rejoice…Unreal Tournament has finally made its way to the Xbox 360. The saying, good things come to that that wait, applies to this game as the Xbox 360 version has been blessed with added levels, modes and content.

Unreal Tournament finally shines it light onto the Xbox 360 and more gorgeous then ever thanks to the Unreal Engine 3. UT3 for the Xbox 360 features two new characters and five expansive maps that are unavailable on both PC and PS3 versions of the game. Additionally, for the first time ever, multiple gamers can try frag each other on the same television with the inclusion of split-screen multiplayer. As if all this exclusive stuff wasn’t enough, this version of UT3 also includes all previously released downloadable content right on the disc.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s dig deep into what really matter, the fast paced action that we all know as Unreal Tournament. UT3 unleashed the full power of the Unreal Engine 3 on the Xbox 360, taking graphics, gameplay and challenge to a whole new level. Players can engage in intense battles with other human players online, or against Unreal AI that sets the industry standard. This game consists of three modes: Campaign, Instant Action and Online Multiplayer.
Unreal Tournament 3 features a compelling five chapter single player experience that follows the adventure of Ronin, a team of mercenaries out for revenge on those who destroyed their home colony. Also, the entire campaign can be played cooperatively online and off, very much like Gears of War. Honestly, if you were expecting anything…anything at all from this story mode prepared to be disappointed. The story isn’t bad but at the same time isn’t good. I see it as a, “bonus” because it’s not a story that matters, it’s the fast paced action that got us interested in the series in the first place. So Campaign mode wise, its fun with a friend just to play around and maybe grab a few achievements like beating it on insane. Otherwise it’s totally Zzzzz land. Moving on!
