Vampire Rain is a game that comes once in a life time that makes you appreciate the mediocre games available today. There are so many things wrong with Vampire Rain that I couldn't bother to play it for more than an hour. Whether it is the graphics, controls, sound, or game play, they all link together to make a horrible game.

The story behind Vampire Rain is that the United States is infested with zombie looking vampires called Nightwalkers. Nightwalkers appear as normal human beings but upon sighting an uninfected human, they turn into a blood sucking vampires. The American Information Bureau deploys a special military force called the Black Ops to eliminate the Nightwalker menace. You play as John Lloyd, a member of Black Ops who survive a face to face encounter with the Nightwalkers. You’re accompanying by a team of three members to set out and destroy the remaining Nightwalkers in Los Angles California. It starts off as a decent story for a horror game but ends up being a total disaster after everything else.

I want my money back.

Vampire Rain resembles a half baked Splinter Cell game except human is a vampire. While receiving objectives to do, your main priority is not to be seen by the Nightwalkers. Staying out of the Nightwalkers vision is the key to surviving or else you'll die. This wouldn't be much of a problem if there were actual places to hide. Most of the time you’re going around the enemies back trying to sneak your way around them. Another problem is that you’re given a gun but it's freaking useless. The Nightwalkers have superhuman strength and you are dead in one or two hits. Your also hamper by how poor the aiming mechanism that you can't even correctly target the Nightwalker.

Vampire Rain just add upon the frustration with clunky controls. There is no fluidity to this game at all. You literally have to position your body and camera to the wall to get him to stick to it. I'm not even going to mention how hard it is trying to get off the wall. Aiming is another problem because of how hard it is just to target a super human vampire. It’s like a 120 year old man trying to dodge a train but he already died from a heart attack. You can't help but look at your character John get killed from a vicious attack from a Nightwalker.
